Summer energy — plan it, then do it
This particular season is my favorite.
Because this is the season where you finally start seeing the results of everything that came before.
Winter was survival.
Spring was rebuilding.
Summer?
Summer is movement.
You are no longer constantly asking yourself:
"Do I have the energy?"
"Do I have the bandwidth?"
"Do I have the capacity?"
Most of the time:
you do.
And that changes everything.
Because the question becomes:
"Do I actually want to?"
You start living your life again.
You enjoy people's company.
Sometimes you even seek it.
Projects become exciting.
Ideas become possible.
Plans start feeling real.
And honestly?
That is wonderful.
But Summer comes with a trap.
A very convincing trap.
The trap is not exhaustion.
The trap is enthusiasm.
Because suddenly:
you want to do everything.
See everyone.
Join every project.
Take every opportunity.
Say yes to every invitation.
And before you realize it:
you have rebuilt the exact life that exhausted you in the first place.
The only difference?
This time you did it voluntarily.
Let's avoid that.
This season is called:
Plan it. Then do it.
Because Summer is not about doing more.
It is about doing what matters.
And for that:
you need structure.
Not rigid schedules.
Not fifteen productivity apps.
Structure.
Do you remember the priority framework?
We kept it simple:
urgent and important
important but not urgent
urgent but not important yet
Summer adds two more questions:
Does this support my purpose?
And:
Is it fun?
Yes.
Fun.
I said it.
And yes:
I am asking you to schedule it.
Not because life should become a giant to-do list.
Because most adults are surprisingly good at scheduling responsibilities.
And surprisingly bad at scheduling joy.
Now let's be clear.
I am not talking about distraction.
Or mindlessly filling your time.
I am talking about something you genuinely enjoy.
Something that challenges you a little.
Something that develops you.
Something that makes you think:
"I can't wait to do this."
A class.
A project.
A creative hobby.
A sport.
A skill.
A community.
Something that feeds both your mind and your energy.
Something that will still matter to you next month.
And once you find it?
The next step is very simple.
Not easy.
Simple.
Plan it.
Then do it.
Not when motivation appears.
Not when the stars align.
Not when life becomes perfect.
Put it in your calendar.
Protect the time.
Show up.
Because Summer energy is not about having possibilities.
It is about using them.
The goal of Summer is not to be busy.
The goal of Summer is to build a life that you are genuinely excited to participate in.
