Spring nourishment — food is no longer an emergency

Now that you have a little more energy:

it is time for slightly more complexity, variety and pleasure.

And how you nourish yourself should slowly start reflecting this change too.

You are no longer in survival mode.

You are starting to want more than functionality.

Not just to survive anymore—

but to thrive.

The difficulty is:

you probably still do not fully know your current bandwidth yet.

And that is important.

Because Spring nourishment is not about suddenly becoming someone who:

  • batch cooks perfectly

  • prepares aesthetic meals every day

  • or spends three hours cooking after work

Not at all.

It is about becoming more intentional.

Not only about what you eat—

but also about the environment around it.

Before, your breakfasts were:

  • sweet

  • savoury

  • comfort-oriented

  • emergency-friendly

Now?

Things become slightly more versatile.

More shareable.

More outside-friendly.

The kind of breakfast you can:

  • bring to work

  • eat with coworkers

  • share without creating collective kitchen chaos

  • or maybe even enjoy outside if the weather allows it

And yes—

I know.

Breakfast outside sounds slightly strange at first.

But let’s be honest:

if you have:

  • a park

  • a beach

  • a balcony

  • a garden

  • a porch

  • or anything remotely nature-ish

You also have free will.

You can absolutely decide that your breakfast is now a picnic.

Maybe not at 6AM.

I understand.

But nobody is going to arrest you.

And honestly?

That is one of the best parts of adulthood.

Bit by bit—

you rediscover that you are actually allowed to enjoy your life in small ways.

Not perform it.

Enjoy it.

So if you are a free spirit and have the opportunity to do it: take your breakfast outside sometimes.

Or your brunch.

And take a picture of it.

Not for social media.

For yourself.

As proof that:

  • you did it once

  • enjoyed it

  • and can do it again

Because this is also part of recovery.

Not just having energy again—

but learning how to experience your life with it.

I already gave you a system regarding:

  • composition

  • portions

  • balance

(Refer to the previous nourishment posts here.)

The next post will contain one of the breakfasts you can have:

inside or outside.

So until then:

start thinking about it.

Closing line

Spring nourishment is not about eating perfectly.

It is about slowly making your life feel enjoyable again.
